Whitiora Kindergarten - Part Time Kaiako
Whitiora Kindergarten is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Kaiako to join our welcoming team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a community focused kindergarten where you can make a genuine difference in the learning, well-being, and development of tamariki.
Located in the heart of Hamilton, Whitiora Kindergarten is part of a diverse and vibrant community. We value strong partnerships with whānau, inclusive practice and creating an environment where every child feels a sense of belonging.
Hours of Work:
Monday 8:30am – 4:30pm 7.5 hours
Tuesday 8:30am – 4:30pm 7.5 hours
Wednesday 8:30am – 4:30pm 7.5 hours
Thursday 8:30am – 1:00pm 4.5 hours
Friday 8:30am – 1:00pm 4.5 hours
Total: 31.5 hours per week
About the Role
As a Kaiako at Whitiora Kindergarten, you will:
- Create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment that supports the social, emotional and educational well-being of tamariki.
- Confidently support child-led learning and thoughtfully extend the interests, ideas and discoveries of tamariki.
- Engage in reflective practice and contribute high-quality assessment, planning and documentation.
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture committed to continuous improvement and high-quality early childhood education.
What You’ll Bring
- A Bachelor of Teaching Early Childhood Education, Level 7 (minimum qualification)
- A current Practicing Registration issued by Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand
- A current First Aid Certificate
