St Andrews Kindergarten - Head Teacher

At St Andrews Kindergarten, we are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and inspiring Head Teacher to lead our teaching team.

We are looking for someone who leads with confidence, brings energy and initiative to the role and has organisational and financial acumen to support the successful operation of the kindergarten.

Position Details

• Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week
• Days: Monday to Friday
• Hours of work: 8:00am to 4:30pm

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kindergarten, including enrolments
• Leading, mentoring and supporting your teaching team
• Promoting a positive, collaborative and professional team culture
• Building meaningful and respectful relationships with tamariki, whānau and the wider community
• Supporting high-quality teaching and learning practices
• Ensuring a welcoming, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
• Contributing to the effective financial and operational management of the kindergarten

Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who brings:

• Proven leadership and operational management experience within an early childhood setting
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build respectful, trusting relationships
• Experience supporting children's social and emotional competence
• The ability to work alongside whānau to establish and maintain respectful, reciprocal and responsive relationships
• Confidence in reflective practice, assessment and written documentation
• Strong organisational skills and financial awareness
• A commitment to professionalism and delivering high-quality early childhood education
• A positive, solutions-focused attitude and the ability to lead with energy and enthusiasm

You will be a fully registered and certified Teacher, hold a current First Aid and bring proven leadership experience, along with a genuine passion for early childhood education.
