Insoll Kindergarten - Head Teacher

Insoll Kindergarten is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Head Teacher to provide leadership to our teaching team.

About the Role

As Head Teacher, you will provide strong professional and operational leadership across the kindergarten. You will be responsible for effective roll and staffing management, while leading and supporting a collaborative teaching team.

A key part of this role will be building and maintaining strong, respectful relationships with tamariki, whānau, colleagues and the wider community. You will champion a team-based approach to teaching and learning and ensure that planning, assessment and internal evaluation practices contribute to continuous improvement.

Experience working in a similar environment and/or working with priority learners would be advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strong professional and operational leadership to support the success of the kindergarten
• Inspire, support and develop a collaborative teaching team
• Lead a team-based approach to planning, teaching and learning
• Promote and support the social and emotional competence of tamariki
• Build strong, trusting and respectful relationships with tamariki and whānau
• Communicate confidently and respectfully across all areas of the role

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have proven leadership experience in an early childhood setting
• Be confident, calm, and approachable
• Be an effective communicator and relationship builder
• Have a strong knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and current early childhood teaching and learning theories
• Have a Bachelor of Teaching Early Childhood Education (minimum qualification)
• Hold a current Practising Certificate issued by Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand
• Hold a current First Aid Certificate
