We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Head Teacher to lead our teaching team at Hukanui Kindergarten.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role where you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the kindergarten while inspiring a collaborative, supportive and high performing teaching team. You’ll play an integral part in creating a warm, welcoming and positive learning environment, ensuring high-quality outcomes for tamariki.
Position Details
Full time - 40 hours per week
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
About the Role
As Head Teacher, you will provide strong professional and operational leadership across the kindergarten. Your responsibilities will include managing enrolments and staffing, supporting and guiding your teaching team, and building meaningful relationships with tamariki, whānau and the wider community.
Your ability to model professional practice and to continue to build on the culture of respect, responsiveness and reciprocity will be key to your success.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone who brings:
- Proven leadership and operational management experience within an early childhood setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build respectful, trusting relationships
- A collaborative approach and the ability to contribute positively within a team-environment
- Experience supporting children's social and emotional competence
- Ability to work with whaanau to establish and maintain respectful, reciprocal, and responsive relationships.
- Confidence in reflective practices and written documentation
- A commitment to professionalism and delivering high-quality education
About you
You will be a fully registered and certified early childhood Teacher, hold a current First Aid and bring proven leadership experience along with a genuine passion for early childhood education.
