About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Kaiako to become part of our team. Our small, close-knit team promotes strong professional relationships, creating a positive and enjoyable workplace.

Initially the hours for this position will be:

Monday,  Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00am to 1:00pm

Wednesday 8:00am to 4:30pm 

Total of 28 hours per week.

As from 5th January 2026, the permanent hours for this position will be:

Monday 8:30am to 2:45pm  5.75 hours

Tuesday 8:30am to 4:30pm  7.5 hours

Wednesday 8:30am to 2:45pm  5.75 hours

Thursday 8:30am to 2:45pm  5.75 hours

Friday 8:30am to 2:45pm  5.75 hours

Total of 30.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment that fosters tamariki social and emotional well-being.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to support individual and group needs.
  • Brings energy, enthusiasm and creativity to create inspiring learning environments.
  • Confident in supporting child-led learning and skilled at extending tamariki interests and ideas.
  • Able to foster positive, respectful and responsive relationships with tamariki, whaanau and colleagues.

You will also have

  • B Ed/Dip teaching level 7 (ECE) and current teacher registration
  • A current First Aid Certificate (NZQA Unit standards 6400, 6401, 6402).
